I am currently seeking a publisher and/or agent for my unpublished poetry manuscript, Body Rumors: Poems. Body Rumors takes interest in the fraught nature of occupying a body in the world and the intersecting experiences of queerness, disability, survivorship, and trauma. The collection confronts a personal history of childhood sexual abuse and examines how violence can persist in the nervous system for decades.
The collection employs a range of formal and structural strategies. Multiple obsessive series run through the book, including an “Etymology” form of my own invention. I also use received forms such as the sestina, the villanelle, and erasure poetry. The complete fifty-page manuscript contains 40 poems, fourteen of which have been previously published.
As my MFA thesis, Body Rumors was the winner of the 2025 Young Dawkins III Endowed Prize in Creative Writing from the University of New Hampshire. Body Rumors was also a finalist for Small Harbor Publishing’s 2024 Laureate Prize, judged by Kai Coggins.
